Another nail in the already splintered coffin of Britain.

This week the Royal Mint will announce the new design that will replace Britannia on the backs of 50ps. This seems slightly trivial however when put in the context of today it is yet another step towards destroying everything and anything that can provide any sense of identity and the horror word of the EU ‘individualism.’

The image of the Roman Goddess has adorned British coins for decades and was first see after the Roman conquest of Britain some 2000 years ago. It was first used as a way of representing the different countries coinage and since has become an integral part of British culture, akin to the Shamrock of Ireland and the Eagle of America. However the difference here is that Britain is not permitted a culture, we as citizens of this country have to for go any right to a history or identity in the face of the ever oppressing wave of multi-culturalism.

There we have multi-culturalism, the buzz word, the in phrase, whatever you want to call it, the death tool of this society seems more apt than most. The Euro-philes and the left wingers lampoon supporters of British culture as having the ‘little island mentality’ however surely that is the point we are a little island. An island that for centuries controlled the known world under the slogan ‘Britannia rules the waves.’ In the last hundred years we gave up an empire, as did most civilised countries and we gave up exploitation of children and created one of the first benefit systems in the world. However these things which should be paraded as achievements of our nation are in fact taunted for having existed in the first place.

Recently pint glasses in pubs no longer bare the Royal crest as recognition of the correct measurement but carry the symbol of the European Union, we have been forced into a rejargonised EU treaty, we have our border policy over turned by unelected and highly corrupted officials in Brussels who wouldn’t even know the way to ‘the little island.’

If we as indigenous people of this country are expected to cure the worlds ills and welcome with open arms all the peoples of the world who, for what ever reason, feel that they can not survive in their own countries, then why on earth should we also have to sacrifice our culture as well as accepting theirs? The fact is that to the men sat in Whitehall we are irrelevant, that is the basic incontrovertible fact, we are totally insignificant they do not care about the opinions, wishes or desires of this country or her people. Today has also seen a new report issued by the House of Lords claiming that immigration ‘is (of) no economic benefit to the resident population and is damaging to the low paid,’ therefore the argument of immigration holding up our economy seems somewhat flawed. When Sky News conducted a poll after the release of this report a staggering 95% of people believed that an the whole immigration was a bad thing however the Government will no doubt continue to ignore the feelings of the populous.

The official line is that the coins need a change and that it is nothing about the old imperialistic leanings of the symbol however are we really expected to believe that the fact that President Sarkozy’s visit to the UK coincides with the removal of possibly the most potent anti French symbol in existence? 40,000 people have signed on-line polls to keep this little bastion of identity from being wiped away like so much else in our culture, yet does the Government even acknowledge the public’s feeling, does it even discuss the issue? No because simply they do not care. Messrs Brown, Sarkozy, Merkel and alike are the pool bearers of the crumbling ideal of national identity in Europe and it will not be long till the short step to more inclusive coins transfers to the all inclusive Euro. As the EU Constitution gained effect through the back door so will the EU financial system.

Many readers will think this just mindless twittering, that it has no real impact and we never really had a culture anyway and that i think is precisely the problem. With the Last Night of the Proms future being discussed due to it being ‘excessively exclusive’, with legislation afoot to insist that all British car bumper stickers are encircled with the EU stars and with simple minor facets of our identity being trodden on by corrupt liberal cowards perhaps the day has come that people should care and start listening to that pointless twittering, as it no longer comes solely from the extreme right but from all areas of the political spectrum. It was a bloody day when the Celtic tribes saw the Goddess Britannia on the horizon and it will be a sad one when the indigenous people of this country have to see her go, however with multi cultural propaganda rammed down the throats of the impressionable and the dim witted, will people really even notice?

  1. I like the way you’ve written this, very hard hitting and to the point. perhaps a little biased, however when it’s a personal view piece surely its going to be slightly biased, if not totally? This is where I seem to struggle a little bit! But i do like the style and way you express your opinion and back it up with facts about online polls etc!

  2. The new coins are to feature the Queen’s coat of arms. Are you sure that’s a conspiracy by the EU? So you’re saying it’s bad that the crest is removed from pint glasses, but aren’t happy that it’s to appear on coins? I wouldn’t attach to much significance to a symbol being removed from one coin. There have been plenty of other obverse designs for the 50p over the years, they’ve said Britannia will return in the future, and there will always be old coins in circulation.

  3. Apparently, it’s going to feature the four quarters of Royal Coat Of Arms instead. One coin, the Lions Of England. One Coin, The Lion of Scotland. One coin, the Harp Of Ireland. One Coin, the Lions of England….

Don’t know where the Welsh fit in, but apparently the Queen likes it.

  4. I was unaware of the idea of using the coat of arms and after checking the royal mint website it insists no announcement has been made. However if this is the case then of course i would agree with using that image but would still ask the question of why it needed changing in the first instance.

The fact is not that they are changing the coin design but that it is another step to remove anything that seperates Britian from the rest of Europe, and as for a conspiracy i dont actually think i said that i thought it was a conspiracy and if it is its a very long winded attempt.

Im meerley saying that this just strikes rather coincidental considering the recent inbeddedment of the Lisbon Treat and Mr Sarkozy’s visit in which he wanted closer ties.

    Thanks for the comments.

  5. The design seems to have been leaked and was reported “exclusively” in today’s Telegraph.

Unfortunately, Wales was effectively considered part of England for so long that it isn’t represented individually in the royal arms. So the design isn’t the best for representing all parts of the UK. Maybe we could have had one coin with a Welsh symbol, one Scottish, etc… Oh hold on, that’s what we had before!

  6. It seems that this is another pointless quango set up with public money where people sit around making decisions about things which aren’t really an issue in the first place.
